beer bloggers unite! BBC in Asheville

Next week I will be traveling to North Carolina for the National Beer Bloggers Conference! Asheville will play host to hundreds of writers, not to mention some incredible speakers and educators. I will fly into Raleigh to hang out with these clowns yet again and then drive to Asheville with Rick.

When revisiting some of my favorite towns (especially the beer havens) it is difficult not to visit the same places over and over. I admit that I cannot leave the state without places like Beasley’s or Lonerider Brewing. But I am excited to see how things have evolved, too — Roth Brewing is no more, it has become Gizmo Brew Works, and perhaps I will re-visit Roost in Fearrington when they’re, you know…open.

From Oskar Blues we head to Sierra Nevada’s brand new facility, then back to town for a social hour and bottle share. The entire day promises to be completely epic.

Saturday morning is WordPress class and a presentation from several distributors including JJ Taylor. After lunch we discuss advancing our social media game and moving “beyond the beer review”. Although these four topics may seem a bit dry to the average person, I am totally psyched to up my blogging game.

The conference wraps up on Sunday with several writing classes focused on quality reviews and improved blogging abilities. I’m sure my brain will be relatively full by this point but I will continue to soak it all in.
